News from Sally's Uncle, Colin Larkin
"Just finished a tasty project Confessin' The Blues with the Rolling Stones.
I am still working on a detailed biography of the lyricist Will Jennings and a mammoth guide to the 1000 Albums To Take To The Grave. I have also completed a visual history of Vintage Pan Books Cover Me, and still writing a monster music autobiography - Phonographic Memory."
Colin was was the first person to give me a taste of recording vocals when I was aged 13 or 14. I sang a cappella into a 4 track an oddly diverse combo of songs including The Beatles' 'Nowhere Man', The theme song to 'The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams', and 'Wouldn't it be Lovely' from My Fair Lady....
A wonderful writer and musician, Colin has always supported my projects and has kindly credited me in many of his music books and encyclopedias. The Virgin Encyclopedia of Dance Music published in 1999 is dedicated to me, as he knew I loved the genre.
