new album project with Steve Hogg and Jeff Spencer
I've been recording some backing vocals for a new album project entitled; 'Steve Hogg and Jeff Spencer present Nilsson Sings Newman'. Great to be working with Steve, Mark Aubrey again and great to have the wonderful Andy Tween playing drums. Jeff's arrangements and piano playing are sublime...
Lady Nade and my band Mrs Jones & Company will provide some of the entertainment at the end of Stomp sponsored walk. Already 303 people have signed up. There will also be a fantastic farmers' market
Here is some info about the music:
Local legend Lady Nade plays haunting and beautiful original songs evoking Blues, Jazz, Acoustic Roots and Soul will perform songs from her critically acclaimed album, 'Hard to Forget' and new songs from her latest album.
Mrs Jones & Company is a band Sally Larkin formed to raise money for Penny Brohn UK. The band play a funky mix of Soul, Jazz, Latin and ’60’s pop; original songs with themes of life, love, passion with uplifting lyrics and sweet harmonies. The album, 'Life & Other Songs' will be on sale to raise funds for the charity.
Looks like a lovely day out so if you are interested, please have a read. I hope to see you at the National Centre. We should be playing between 1 - 2pm. Sally x

News from Sally's Uncle, Colin Larkin
"Just finished a tasty project Confessin' The Blues with the Rolling Stones.
I am still working on a detailed biography of the lyricist Will Jennings and a mammoth guide to the 1000 Albums To Take To The Grave. I have also completed a visual history of Vintage Pan Books Cover Me, and still writing a monster music autobiography - Phonographic Memory."
Colin was was the first person to give me a taste of recording vocals when I was aged 13 or 14. I sang a cappella into a 4 track an oddly diverse combo of songs including The Beatles' 'Nowhere Man', The theme song to 'The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams', and 'Wouldn't it be Lovely' from My Fair Lady....
A wonderful writer and musician, Colin has always supported my projects and has kindly credited me in many of his music books and encyclopedias. The Virgin Encyclopedia of Dance Music published in 1999 is dedicated to me, as he knew I loved the genre.
Sally talks about her respect for Nade

'The arrogance of time'
I Played with September song at Wrington Memorial Hall on 7th July. A hot day and high from England's win, the atmosphere was great. I loved singing the songs including 2 new ones from the next album. Roll on more studio sessions with this musically gifted bunch. Such a pleasure to work them.
